The DISCAL® air separator is used to continuously remove the air contained in hydronic circuits of heating and cooling systems. The air discharge capacity is very high. They automatically remove all the air present in the system down to micro-bubble level with low head loss due to the special internal shape of the separator body. Flow direction of the DISCAL® air separator is bidirectional; flow in either direction is permitted. The circulation of fully de-aerated water enables the equipment to operate under optimum conditions, free from noise, corrosion, localized or mechanical damage. Micro-bubbles, fusing with each other, increase in volume (get larger) until they become large enough to rise to the top where they are automatically released.
- Anti-rotation/anti-vibration pinned float - Creates space between float and air vent wall to prevent float hang-up from debris or variations in separator installation orientation
- Large-diameter chamber - Slows fluid flow dramatically, combines with concentric, sharp-edged mesh design to cause micro-bubbles to efficiently collect and coalesce, highly effective automatic air elimination
- Anti-corrosion coalescing mesh - Constructed of glass-filled nylon, more resistant to dissolved oxygen and acidic fluids than plated metals
- Robust stainless steel float linkages - Reliable float alignment even during turbulent conditions such as filling from bottom
- Corrosion resistant - All components highly resistant to hydronic chemical additives or unstable pH fluid
- Air separator with or without automatic check valve to mount to expansion tank on bottom thread
