Where there is a need for protecting automatic sprinklers from mechanical damage once installed in certain applications, they shall be installed within an automatic sprinkler head guard. Head guards shall be UL listed or FM approved for use with the sprinkler in which it is installed, to allow for proper discharge pattern of the automatic sprinkler upon activation. Head guards shall be of the model JG Series, as manufactured by globe fire sprinkler corporation.
