This FloodSafe(R) water detector shutoff protects the homeowner from catastrophic damage in the event of a water heater leak by using state of the art water detection technology. It detects the presence of water on the floor beneath the water heater and will automatically shut off the water supply and power source to the water heater. This 3/4 inch safety valve detector is easily testable and resettable by the contractor or home owner to ensure proper operation. It consists of an integral control unit, a water dam, power supply, power cut-out module with electric 220 V pilot, and water detection pad.
- No terminals to corrode or to impair operation
- Easily installed on new or existing water heaters
- No special piping is required
- Supplied with a Water Dam for concrete, linoleum, tile or other hard surface flooring
- Secure interlocking connector cables are unique to each connecting device
- Employs state-of-the-art water detection technology
- Provides contacts for monitored alarm detection systems
- Power cutout modules for the standing pilot gas fired water heaters retain thermocouple circuit in the event of momentary power outage
- The wetted surface of this product contacted by consumable water contains less than 0.25% of lead by weight
- 30 A maximum electric water heater current rating
- Easily tested and reset to assure proper operation
